A Hybrid Painting Course - Working with Watercolor and Pastel with Pamela Barcita (Tuesdays)

Join Pamela Barcita on this new studio adventure combining the wet medium of watercolor with the dry medium of pastel. There is a depth and richness that can be achieved when experimenting with and pushing the boundaries of these two painting mediums. Students will explore creating compositions using transparent watercolors as underpainting and completing them with the brilliance of soft pastels. Throughout the course, Pamela will introduce painting techniques with both mediums. Several texturizing treatments on watercolor paper and other surfaces will be demonstrated that will aid in the paper accepting the pastel for the best final effect.
