The Expressive Landscape in Pastel with Susan Roden (Friday through Sunday)

Join artist, Susan Roden, in this fun, three-day workshop that will focus on learning techniques of how to get the most out of the medium of pastel while creating expressive compositions of the landscape. Individual instruction and demonstrations during the two in-studio days and the one in-field day will cover rendering compositions with positive/negative shapes and emphasis on complimentary colors. Students will learn to capture the movement of clouds applying energetic and varied strokes on location at a nearby site that Susan has scouted out. The basics of this dry, vibrant medium, ranging from painting surfaces, types of pastels, and varied techniques will be discussed in-depth. This workshop is for artists at all levels.
