Love to draw but dreaming about color? Join artist, Susan Rubin, as she uncovers the vast potential of the medium of colored pencil. Susan will be working from her Denver studio where she will demonstrate, lecture, look at student's work offering guidance while you work in the safety of your own home studio. Students will start with pencil drawing techniques to accurately capture botanical forms in line with an emphasis on shape, proportion and perspective. Learn to add depth with light on form in shading and cast shadows. Colored pencil has gained popularity in recent years, but is not just for ‘coloring’. Learn to mix your own colors in layers and how to apply them like a painter for luminous depth and bold hues. From fruit to leaves to flowers, each week we will take on a new botanical challenge from start to finish. By the end of the course you’ll have an impressive collection of your own small botanical artworks!
Please sign up early; class size is limited.
