Hikers, biologists, birdwatchers and artists - anyone can learn to sketch in the field. Whether you are a beginner, or more experienced sketcher, this course will enhance your skills in depicting the great outdoors. We will study rendering techniques, field sketches, composition, color wash, diagraming, and more. This class will provide you with the tools you need to learn from your observations of nature as well as to preserve what you have seen. We will find patterns, designs and structures present in even the most minuscule particle of natural form. Subjects of our studies will include flowers, trees, skies, clouds, and terrain. Students will venture out on their own sketching and taking photographs to work from in the studio.
Please sign up early; class size is limited.
