Learn how to draw the figure in charcoal and pastel from observation. Join Peggy online as she works from her home studio where she will demonstrate and lecture the first hour and look at student's work offering guidance and critique for the second hour. Peggy will also be in contact with students via email. Class topics will cover how to measure the figure accurately, create volume in light and shading using vine charcoal and charcoal pencil, and how to create a rich color palette of flesh tones with pastel.Technique and materials usage will be discussed at length, along with a daily demonstration. The goal of this class is to bring to the student a cohesive understanding of the figure with successful results and learning to take control of the medium. You will learn to make your own pastel primers as well as how to work on different pastel surfaces, achieving a variety of surface effects. Come ready to draw on day one! This will be an energetic, informative class.
