The Abstract Landscape in Watermedia with Esther Marie Caponigro (Mondays)

Join NewYork artist, Esther Marie, exploring the vast potential of gouache, ink and watercolor as you explore the abstract form in the landscape. Each week, working from her studio in New York, Esther will introduce different techniques from an impressionist view of the landscape. Students will review the principles of art by referring to works by artists throughout history. While learning about brush strokes, washes, mixes, blending and color theory, students will also explore the combination of these different mediums working wet-on-wet, creating texture, value changes, as well as creating focus and depth.  Esther Marie will demonstrate all techniques while also give students individual attention through critiques and group discussions fostering their progress. This class will help each student nurture their own signature painting style.
