Join Denali Brooke and learn how to loosen up while painting an expressive landscape in pastel. Influenced by the Impressionists, Denali is known for her exploration in color and gestural approach. In this class you will learn how to paint a New Mexico landscape in a way that portrays the light and preserves the vibrancy of color that is typical of this region of the world. Students will learn how to set up a strong composition with value studies and strengthen your understanding of value and color. You will also improve your mark-making skills to create the various textures of the landscape. You will work along with the instructor to paint skies, clouds, vegetation, trees, and rocks. All levels are welcome. Some experience with pastel is helpful.
Please sign up early; class size is limited.
